Truck-Mounted Laser Raises Hopes Of Unmanned Military Defense

New Mexico (ChattahBox) – Boeing, the well known aerospace and development company, has announced that one of it’s lasers, mounted atop a truck, has shot down a UAV in New Mexico, making it the most promising military prototype in some time. While Paramedic Tarino Lightbourne and former Bahamian Senator Pleasant Bridgewater were arrested in the scheme to extort millions from Travolta after the tragic death of his son in the Bahamas, it wasn’t clear what was the threatening material being used against the actor. Read more

Assassination attempt against Queen Elizabeth II revealed years later?

(ChattahBox) — A retired Australian detective revealed Wednesday, that an assassination attempt was made on Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, nearly 40 years ago while she traveled on a train across Australia. Retired New South Wales state Detective Superintendent Cliff McHardy, 81, said the Queen and her husband, were traveling through the Blue Mountains on in April 29, 1970, when their train struck a log deliberately placed, but the locomotive was not moving fast and didn’t derail. The train did slide about 200 yards before coming to a stop however.

(ChattahBox) — Today, the condition known as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the underlying biological and psychological causes are poorly understood. At the most basic level, PTSD is the result of a breakdown in the defense system that copes with traumatic and frightening experiences. After such events, most people will suffer what is known as Acute Stress Disorder, which involves symptoms of anxiety and depression. The majority will recover, but a minority go on to develop the chronic mental health problems that characterise PTSD. Sufferers are plagued with recurring nightmares, insomnia and depression, experiencing high anxiety, mood swings and relationship difficulties. Divorces, unemployment, homelessness and violence become common; vivid flashbacks can lead to panic attacks; and veterans often sink into a cycle of alcohol or drug abuse as they attempt to deal with their symptoms. New research from America – triggered by the soaring incidence of PTSD among troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan has found striking differences in the brain patterns of those suffering from combat stress, raising hopes that we will be able to identify and treat sufferers much more effectively.
