Egypt Orders Slaughter of All Pigs: Overkill?

(ChattahBox)—Egyptian Health Minister Hatem el-Gabali, announced today every single pig inside the borders of Egypt would be slaughtered by health ministry workers, to prevent the spread of swine flu in the country, although there are no reported cases yet in Egypt. (ChattahBox)–Researchers have found that Peripheral arterial disease or PAD is under diagnosed in patients with heart disease at an alarming rate, even when patients receive regular care from a cardiologist. Coronary artery disease puts patients at risk for developing PAD, which blocks the arteries providing blood supply to the legs.
Complications from PAD are severe, ranging from pain when walking to actual limb loss. Untreated PAD can also be deadly, causing heart attacks and strokes. Read more
Google Book Deal: Facing Possible Anti-Trust Investigation

(ChattahBox)—Reports are surfacing, after a story in the NY Times that U.S. Justice Department anti-trust regulators are now scrutinizing Google’s settlement agreement reached last October after a protracted copyright infringement lawsuit, brought against it by the Authors Guild and the Association of American Publishers. Some authors and heirs are balking at the terms of the deal now and U.S. District Judge Denny Chin, just granted an extension until September 4 to give authors more time to review the agreement and present any objections.
