Now, with a new debate on illegal immigration, in the wake of Arizona’s draconian “Show me your papers” law, right-wing Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) is jumping right in with his helpful advice. What is it? The helpful Poe declared on the House floor yesterday, that Homeland Security can take a lesson from Texans who capture “illegal grasshoppers from Brazil,” hidden in ships coming into port. Aloha State Passes Same-Sex Civil Union Bill, But Needs Signature of GOP Gov.

(ChattahBox)—-In an unexpected move on the last day of Hawaii’s legislative session, the House passed a civil unions bill, granting both same-sex and heterosexual couples the opportunity to enter into unions, with the same rights accorded to married couples. Gay rights activists cheered and cried after the historic vote, while sporting rainbow hued leis. And opponents warned the bill would violate the sanctity of traditional marriage. But for now, all eyes are on Republican Governor Linda Lingle, who has until July 6 to make a decision on the bill. GDP Report Shows Economy Continues to Grow at Rate of 3.2 Percent

And with all efforts to contain the oil spill and cap off the well, failing, the crude oil has crept into the Louisiana marshlands and has reportedly reached the shoreline of the Mississippi Delta, placing wildlife at risk.
