Maine Gov. Paul LePage is facing fresh outrage and legal trouble, after removing a mural depicting Maine’s labor history from the walls of the Department of Labor for the crime of depicting “one-sided decor” not in keeping with his administration’s pro-business agenda. (ChattahBox Political News—The bizarre showdown between the lawless and reckless Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) and Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi, attacked by Republicans as a crazed “leftist” who—wait for it—”shops at organic gourmet food shops,” continued today with a new twist. Apparently, in response to public comments giving the virtual middle finger to the judge’s orders enjoining implementation of the union-busting bill, from the Walker administration, the Department of Justice and the clownish Republican lawmakers, known as the Fitzgerald brothers, Judge Sumi amended Tuesday’s order this morning, declaring that the bill was not legally published and is therefore not law. How far will the Walker goon squad go in spitting in the eye of the rule of law? For now, the third court order is the charm, and Walker appears to have finally decided to obey the rule of law. On Tuesday, Judge Sumi warned the Walker administration that they risk court sanctions for willfully defying her orders. The court hearing resumes on Friday. Will she make good on her threat of sanctions? Whatever happens in this court case and others, Scott Walker and his Republican minions have been publicly unmasked as lawless thugs. Judge Warns Rogue Walker Gang Consequences of ‘Willful Defiance’ of Court Order

(ChattahBox Political News)—Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi warned the lawless administration of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) she will hit them with sanctions, if they continue to willfully defy her court order enjoining implementation of Walker’s controversial union-busting bill. Yesterday’s court hearing exposed the thuggish actions of Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R), in bullying officials with the Legislative Reference Bureau to print the bill electronically in defiance of state law, Judge Sumi’s Temporary Restraining Order, and a directive from Secretary of State Doug La Follette. A law-breaking trifecta. Judge Sumi was not happy with the behavior of Walker’s goon squad and issued an amended TRO enjoining implementation of the bill, again. Under the threat of sanctions, one would think Walker’s crew would be properly chastened. Think again. Minutes after the judge’s ruling yesterday, Assistant Attorney General Steven Means declared the union-stripping bill is “absolutely” the law of the land in Wisconsin. Read more

(ChattahBox Political News)— Media Matters published a report today, proving once again, that Fox News is a propaganda outlet for the Republican Party. Of course, this is no great revelation, but stories like these help to eat away at the lie perpetuated by Fox News that it’s a “fair and balanced” non-partisan news network. Media Matters has audio of Bill Sammon, admitting to a conservative audience on board a cruise ship, that he purposely manipulated and directed news coverage on Fox News, to smear then-candidate Barak Obama with false stories portraying him as a dangerous socialist and Marxist. Sammon is Fox’s Washington managing editor and a Fox News vice president, who has previously been caught by Media Matters ideologically slanting the so-called “straight” news coverage on Fox News to favor right-wing policies. But what’s different this time, is that Sammon admits he was lying about Obama being a socialist. He referred to his vicious anti-Obama campaign leading up to a presidential election, as “mischievous speculation.” Read more

The loudmouth braggart released his own birth certificate to Newsmax, a right-wing birther conspiracy website, demanding that President Obama do the same. Obama’s official state-issued birth certificate has been available online for three-years. But the joke is on The Donald. The document he produced with much kooky fanfare, is not an “official” birth certificate issued by the Department of Health. It’s a non-legal birth document issued by the hospital to the parents. So, now the question must be asked. What is Trump hiding? I’m not saying Donald Trump is an illegitimate Manchurian candidate usurper, smuggled into this country at birth to destroy American democracy as we know it. I’m just asking the question. Read more
Maine Gov. Takes Down ‘Communist North Korea’ Labor Mural

(ChattahBox Political News)—Paul LePage, Maine’s ridiculous tea party governor, got his wish this weekend, when a labor mural depicting the history of Maine’s workers was removed from the walls of the Department of Labor, so as not to offend business owners with scenes of “Rosie the Riveter” and striking workers at a paper mill. LePage’s controversial order to remove the anti-business “one-sided decor,” sparked a public outcry and subjected LePage to mockery for his mean-spirited and very public assault on Maine’s workers. The colorful 36-foot mural created by a Maine artist, will remain in a storage locker until Mainers manage to elect a governor who’s not a tea party buffoon. Read more
