Yahoo Joins With Boston Globe, St. Petersburg Times

March 10, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – In a further attempt to increase media cooperation, Yahoo has announced they will be adding two more partners to their newspaper syndicate.

The St. Petersburg Times and The Boston Globe have decided to become a part of Yahoo’s pool of media companies, which has now expanded to 793 newspapers.

It is all part of Yahoo’s campaign to joint with the media companies in order to offer them more web traffic, in exchange for an affiliation. This is usually done by offering a range of the day’s top headlines from each one, and offering easier access to stories written for affiliate newspapers.

It is a tactic that has done wonders for a company that was struggling under Google’s net supremacy as little as a year ago.

Many see this as a chance for a company with falling prospects to join with a media form that has quickly been become obsolete, in order to once again strengthen one another in a changing world.
