Hmmm. Americans pay about 5 times as much for cell phone plans as the equivalent in Europe, and any phone over there can be used on any network. Yeah, stifles innovation. Riiight. Stifles windfall profits and breaks monopoly lock-in, you mean, Hutchinson. We wouldn't want to reduce the outrageous profits that your corporate owners make now, would we?
