Pepsi Looking To Launch A Healthier Look
February 1, 2010
(ChattahBox) – PepsiCo. is planning a global remodel which will focus more on their ‘healthy’ products, and less on gaining revenue through their junk food sales.
PepsiCo has several products aimed at being better for you, such as through their Quaker Oats and Tropicana brands.
But they are saying that what they have isn’t enough.
“We, as a company, have $43bn in revenue. Of that, more than $30bn is in what we call ‘fun-for-you’ products, such as treats, soft-drinks and chips,” Chief Executive Indra Nooyi said.
“We worked hard to make these treats healthier. That was the first part of the transformation. The second part is the $10bn that we have in PepsiCo that represents good-for-you products. Our long-term goal is to figure how to grow this part of the business really fast.”
This will all be done by pushing for a triple in their profits from these products, taking them from $10 billion to $30 billion world wide in the next decade.
“The $10bn to $30bn is a goal. It’s bold, but I think it’s a goal that is doable with some creativity,” Nooyi added.
Of these products, they are hoping to create a new nutritional drink for kids, as well as expand upon their oatmeal, juices, and other popular health foods on the market.
