Ford Plans Horsepower Overhaul To Compete With Camaro Success

April 6, 2010

(ChattahBox) – Ford has long since been the big boys on the block when it comes to American sports class power cars. But that all changed when the Camaro made its’ unexpected comeback, and now Ford is upping the ante to compete by going under the hood and adding more bang for the consumer buck.

Ford’s 2011 GT model is under construction, and the plans are aimed directly at recovering from the hit sales took when the Camaro made its’ comeback in 2009.

They are taking two main steps to bring it back to the Mustang: upping the horsepower to a full 300 on a v6, and making it more fuel efficient for wary consumers.

Between the sleek look, the classic brand, and the changes in power and mileage, Ford hopes that the market will open for them one again to beat out what has become a stiff competitor in the pony car industry.

Whatever the sales end up showing at the end of that market year, it is obvious that the rivalry between these two companies will be producing some incredible cars.
