(ChattahBox Political News)— A year after being booted from CNN for promoting paranoid anti-immigration hate and birther conspiracies, Lou Dobbs has landed a gig with the Fox Business Network. The xenophobic Dobbs, who once falsely reported that diseased undocumented immigrants were bringing Leprosy into the country, has tried to soften his image since leaving CNN, with an eye towards politics. But at the same time, he has been speaking before tea party groups slinging incendiary anti-Obama rhetoric about the dangers of socialism. Dobbs will host his own show at Fox Business and will fit right in with the likes of Neil Cavuto. Read more

Torture is torture, Bush Ought to Be Tried
November 5, 2010
(ChattahBox Op/Ed News) – Man, George W Bush’s new book, “Decision Points” is going to be a treasure trove of articles and outrage. Recently I wrote an article on G Dub’s worst moment in his presidency, the moment when he was insulted by rapper Kanye West. Yep, that was his worst moment. Here’s the latest outrage coming from Bush’s revisionist book.
A new report by the Washington Post, shows that Bush personally approved torture in the form of waterboarding,. First on Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KLM) then on two other prisoners. Let’s be clear here I don’t harbor any soft fuzzy spots for the 9/11 plotter. It is my sincere hope that once given a fair trial that he gets his wish to meet his maker sooner rather than later.
We can argue all we want about the circumstances and the need to extract information which might have saved American lives. Unfortunately most experts agree that torture does not work. The tortured gives any useless bit of information in order for the agony to stop. Then it takes valuable time and resources to to verify the information’s veracity. In the meantime the torture pauses and the prisoner develops new strategies to deceive his tormentors. It’s also known that non-torture interrogation techniques are more effective. But the value of torture is not the issue here. The issue here is a US president fully admitting that he broke US and international law by approving the use of torture.
At the end of WWII the United States tried, convicted and hanged Japanese soldiers for waterboarding US soldiers. Why the double standard? If we used the excuse that we tortured KSM in order to save lives why couldn’t the Japanese use the same arguement? The reason is torture is an affront to human dignity and the United States is better than that. Well, we were better than that until a bunch of paranoid thugs called neocons took over the White House.
It is a pity that President Obama and the Democratic led congress did not hold hearings on torture once they assumed power. I understand the long standing practice that new presidents don’t go digging up dirt of old presidents because one day you’ll be the old president. I say that’s hogwash. Presidents have to make the most difficult decisions imaginable. They must decide what’s best for the country and have little room for error. This does not mean they leave their moral compass at home before being sworn in. Bush should be investigated. If it’s found that his administration broke the law, so be it. Let them be convicted. That’s the law.
The country I believe in. The country that I served in the US Army for, is and should be held to a higher standard. We must be the country which holds human dignity as a sacred tenet. And any man, President or Joe, for whatever reason should be held responsible if that sacred tenet is broken.
Sarah Palin Whines About Her Privacy in Reality Show (Video)
November 4, 2010
(ChattahBox Political News)–The first episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaskan reality show depicts the former half-term governor ironically whining and complaining about her privacy. Specifically, Palin and her husband Todd tell viewers how their summer was ruined, due to author Joe McGinniss’ renting the unoccupied house just a few feet away from the Palin’s home. “I think it is an intrusion, an invasion of our privacy and I don’t like it,” says Palin. When McGinniss took up residence in Wasilla over the summer to research a book on Sarah Palin, she threw a fit on Facebook, accusing the respected author of “peeping” into her daughter’s bedroom. Obama to Stewart: ‘It Wasn’t Change You Can Believe in, in 18-Months’
October 28, 2010
(ChattahBox Political News)–President Obama reminded Jon Stewart that real change doesn’t happen overnight and certainly not in just 18-months. It took George W. Bush and Dick Cheney eight-years to trash our country, but the American people want instant solutions and instant gratification. During a first ever appearance by a sitting president on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, President Obama gently sparred, traded barbs and shared a few laughs with host Jon Stewart, who has been openly critical of Obama. The President rejected Stewart’s characterization of the historic health care reform bill as “timid,” while defending Democratic candidates who have taken politically difficult votes, whom are now distancing themselves from the White House. Stewart quipped that some Democrats are running on a platform, of “Please baby, one more chance.” Read more
