Four Year Old Child Breaks Into Dollarstore At 3 AM

December 16, 2008

Texas (ChattahBox) – A break in at a Texas dollar store had police rushing at 3 in the morning to detain the criminal who had triggered the establishment’s silent alarm. But what they found was not the thief they had been expecting.

Instead, the police walked in to find a four year old boy sitting amongst the toys, playing happily, apparently unaware that he had done anything wrong.

According to Detective Randy Stevens who was the first to arrive on the scene, the boy had managed to unlock the door at his home as his parent’s slept, crossed a multi-lane street, and opened an unlocked door at the dollar store.

“When the officers got there, he was showing them his toys,” Officer Crystal Holmes told reporters.

The boy has been taken from his home, but was released to relatives by Child Protective Services, where he will be allowed to remain while an investigation into the incident is launched. There is no evidence of abuse or neglect from the boy’s parents.
