Arginine proves strong root enhancer in men and trees

December 21, 2008

UMEA, Sweden (ChattahBox) — Swedish researchers know getting good wood is important. By doing some testing led by Torgny Nasholm, a forestry professor at the Swedish University of the Agricultural Sciences, they discovered an amino acid that aids sexual performance in human males also helps spruce trees develop stronger root systems.

The team created a fertilizer laced with arginine, which improves sperm production and blood circulation in the genital area in men.  Nasholm found that trees given the fertilizer had stronger root systems and were able to draw nitrogen more effectively a nice side environmental benefit, because it means less nitrogen fertilizer needs to be used.
