January 15, 2009

New Jersey (ChattahBox) – As they say, ‘it takes all kinds’.  A NJ man has been arrested after posing as a female veterinarian, and swindling thousands of dollars out of clients who brought their small animals to his clinic for care.

Daniel C. Tyce has been accused of setting up a false veterinary clinic, small animal rescue clinic, and collecting donations for a fake non-profit organization.

Under the alias Dr. Danielle Smith, he ran the South Jersey Small Animal Rescue, where he was able to fool a number of people into believing he was a certified veterinarian, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

He has been charged with practicing medicine without a license and could face additional charges, such as theft by deception.
