Woman Missing For 12 Years Found Living Under Umbrella

January 20, 2009

Germany (ChattahBox) – A woman who was reported missing twelve years ago has been found alive and physically healthy, living in a makeshift tent in a forest near Bolligen.

A hiker came across the 52 year old woman, who was living under a kind of tent, created from an umbrella, and tarpaulin. She appeared to be physically healthy, but the hiker went to the local ranger, who contacted Bolligen’s mayor. He and the ranger found her the next day.

“She answered our questions and told us she didn’t want any contact with her family,” Mayor Rudolf Burger told reporters.

However, while she is physically healthy, she may not be mentally stable, as she spoke of a mission she had to complete, though the mayor refused to go into detail about what she said that mission was.

While she is still in the woods as of this report, the local administrative board will ask her to leave this week.

“There’s no point in waiting for months,” Andreas Kohli, the community clerk, said. “We are looking for an appropriate place for the woman in cooperation with the social services of Bolligen and the government of Bern.”
