A Koala Love Story

February 11, 2009

Australia (ChattahBox) – In a story of love being found in the face of tragedy, two koalas that were burned in the bushfires raging through Australia have found each other.

Sam, and her new boyfriend Bob, met at a rescue shelter, after the two were found and saved at different points that the fires had hit.

The two have been inseparable, giving each other hugs, even cuddling up in their cages, and it has given the workers who rescued them a feeling of hope after witnessing the devastation of the last several days.

“They keep putting their arms around each other and giving each other hugs. They really have made friends and it is quite beautiful to see after all this. It’s been horrific,” Colleen Wood, one of the caregivers at the Southern Ash Wildfire Shelter told reporters.

“Sam is probably aged between two to four going by her teeth and Bob is about four so they have a muchness with each other.”
