Criminal Has Court Monitoring Device Fixed To Detachable Leg (guess what happened?)

February 13, 2009

UK (ChattahBox) – A criminal who was required to wear a home monitoring device had it placed on his false leg…that could be removed.

Bret Ravenhill had lost his leg in a motorcycle accident, and was forced to use a metal prosthetic. When the security worker who fixed the device to his leg (which he was ordered to wear to monitor a curfew), didn’t didn’t check his leg thoroughly as she was supposed to, Ravenhill was amused.

“Two friends were at my house when she came round and were killing themselves laughing. I thought she would realize straight away — but she never bothered to turn up my trouser leg or look underneath my sock.

“I just left things as they were for a joke.”

His leg was checked an additional three times, once per month, while he was set on curfew, and still, no one noticed.

The incident has caused an investigation into the way these court orders are handled by legal personnel.
