DUI attorney charged with drinking while driving, causing accidents, leaving scene …

(ChattahBox)  — It’s a crazy world we live in, and the next act in this theater of the absurd is a lawyer who makes a heck of a ready made client for his practice.  Florida attorney Robert Scott Whitehead was arrested and faces multiple charges in connection with two motor vehicle accidents in Destin on Saturday night.

Whitehead, 38, allegedly plowed into a car left the scene of the accident and then hit another vehicle head-on, causing major traffic back-ups, according to police. When the fire department arrived on scene and tried to check on Whitehead, he allegedly attempted to put the vehicle into gear to drive away, but the officers managed to turn the vehicle off and take away the lawyers keys. Whitehead was unable to produce a driver’s license, at the scene.  The visibly wobbly Whitehead refused to submit to field sobriety tests and needed assistance finding his shoes and putting them on, according to the report. According to his law firm’s Web site, Whitehead’s firm specializes in civil litigation and criminal and family law including drug cases and DUIs.  A silver lining I suppose is, if  Whitehead is allowed to continue to practice law, at least he’ll know exactly what his clients are going through.
