72-Year-Old Woman Tasered During Traffic Stop

June 4, 2009

Texas (ChattahBox) – After an elderly woman was tasered during a traffic stop violation, the local police are insisting that the measure was the right one, My Fox Austin reports.

According to the arresting officer, 72-year-old Kathryn Winkfein was doing 60 MPH in a 35 MPH construction zone, a point that the woman does admit to.

However, the rest of the claims she disputes, as the arrest affidavit goes on to say that she left her car, became belligerent, screamed profanities, and attacked the officer, at which point the unnamed policeman tasered her and took her to jail.

“I wasn’t argumentative, I was not combative. This is a lie. All of this is a lie, pulled away from him I did not,” she was quoted as telling the My Fox reporter.

She has hired an attorney as a matter of protection, though she has not so far said if she plans on pressing her own charges against the state and police department.

Every news story I have seen on this indicates she was going 60 in a FORTY-FIVE (45) zone, not a 34mph zone. And several of the sites indicate it is a 55 mph zone when there is not construction. I also wish someone would follow up on the dash cam video which apparently still hasn’t been released.

Well… the dashcam was just shown on Fox News Live. CLEARLY the officer, being a brute, pushed this lady. Then when she said she would sign the ticket he contributed to this “argument”. Where is the justice in this???? Is it OK to tase an older person just because? This is pure insanity and an obvious show of force! Absurd! I personally have to question if this is considered a form of elderly abuse. I say yes.

Bailout 2008, a poem by David Jeffrey:

    Like a bloodied warrior,
    laying broken and torn.

Like a dying soldier, hopeless and forlorn.

But the blood, it be green,
    the color of money.

And the soldier is an economy,
and it is anything but funny.

Broken are it’s people and shattered are their dreams.

Thanks to the ultra rich and their full proof schemes.

It is a tragedy with more pain to come.

Finance will be Hell, and their wills will be done.
