Unpaid Russian Workers Seek Bailout From Obama: The US Caused the Crisis

June 6, 2009

(ChattahBox)—It seems some tall tales of the US treasury handing out boatloads of cash to bankrupt companies, have made their way to the outer reaches of Siberia. In a strange letter published in a Russian newspaper, unpaid construction workers from city of Kurgan are seeking their own bailout from the United States.

A group of Russian construction workers in Siberia, who work for Promstroy, an Open Joint Stock Company, haven’t been paid for months and are asking President “Husseinovich” Obama to pay their wages, saying the financial crisis is the fault of the United States.

After repeated requests to their bosses for their wages, they were told that the sub-prime mortgage crisis in the U.S. was the reason the company couldn’t pay its workers.

So, the desperate workers decided to go right to the source and took the unusual step of writing an open letter to President Obama, demanding that he pay their wages.

In the letter addressed to Obama the workers state: “…Of course we feel sorry about the loan system, but you should also put yourself in our shoes. Therefore, we decided to offer you a list of options to solve the current situation:”

The first option is the one the workers obviously prefer, “Place the full blame upon the American administration and yourself as President of the USA. In doing this, you will take upon yourself the obligations for paying out delayed wages to the employees of JSC “Promstroy.”

The two additional “options” the workers are granting President Obama are to refuse responsibility and declare the owners of the construction company malicious slanderers or to talk with his “…European friends by the names Angela and Nicolas, and we think that Silvio…”

No word yet on a response from President Obama.

If it costs less than $60 billion, buy Pomstroy and pay the guys. What the heck, at least we’d get good press from it. Or better yet, give them GM.
