First Dog Bo: Official Portrait, Baseball Card

June 19, 2009

(ChattahBox)— The country can’t seem to get enough of the adorable canine member of the Obama family, named Bo. To satisfy adoring fans everywhere, the White House has released an official photo of Bo on the White House lawn, as well as a baseball card photo, with fun facts.

The photo and baseball card are available to download on the official. White House website. The fun facts are as cute as the First Puppy. The first few factoids get the logistics out of the way, establishing that Bo is the Obama family dog, which family consists of President Obama, First Lady Michelle and children, Malia and Sasha.

Bo’s unofficial title is noted as the First Dog of the United States and is a Texan by birth. Bo’s hobbies are listed as playing on the White House lawn and going on walks with the Obama family. One of his favorite foods is listed as tomatoes, included as a joke by President Obama referencing the First Lady’s vegetable garden. Tomatoes are actually poisonous to dogs.

Though Bo is a Portuguese water dog, he doesn’t know how to swim, says Bo’s fun facts. Maybe it’s time the Obama’s put in a swimming pool alongside that swing set?

Bo Obama’s goal while residing in the White House is to make friends with “foreign dognitaries.” Hopefully Bo will do a better job of making friends than former President Bush’s dog Barney, who was known to bite pesky reporters.

He’s First Dog to many, but in DC, he’s known as FDOTUS – First Dog of the U.S. (fdotus.com)!
