Stuntman To Set Himself On Fire To Break World Record

September 4, 2009

Canada (ChattahBox) – A stuntman in Vancouver is getting all fired up in hopes of burning a world record for the longest burning human being.

Colin Decker hopes to remain on fire, without a breathing aid, for 2 minutes and 39 seconds, one second longer than the current title-holder, Ted Bachelor.

To do this he will be using a protective gel that he and a fellow stuntman, Dustin Brooks, created just for this purpose. They believe it will protect Decker from the intense flames as he sets himself alight this Sunday.

Some have accused the two of using the stunt as a promotional platform for the gel. But, Decker explains, the gel will not be going into mass production any time soon. If you want the gel, you have to have one of the two men there to apply it.

“We sell a service to the film and television industry, we don’t sell a product, it’s just way too dangerous to just let out of our sight and let people play around with. For liability reasons and for responsibility reasons, we have to be there when it gets used.”

Decker will set himself on fire this Sunday on a closed movie set.
