Man Busted For DWI In Motorized Reclining Chair

October 23, 2009

Minnesota (ChattahBox) – A man has pled guilty to driving while under the influence of alcohol after being arrested driving down the road in a motorized La-Z-Boy.

The 62-year-old man, Dennis LeRoy Anderson, had been at a bar drinking with friends when he decided to go home.

Firing up his motorized custom chair, he took off, but didn’t get far. He crashed into a parked car, attracting the attention of nearby police officers.

His blood alcohol was 0.29, three time the legal limit, and he admitted to drinking 8 or 9 beers that evening.

He was given a stayed sentence of 180 days in jail, which he will not serve. He will, instead, be given two years of probation for the August 2008 incident.
