Woman With ‘Restless Genital Syndrome’ Tells Of Struggles
December 22, 2009
New Mexico (ChattahBox) – A 39-year-old woman with a rare condition known as Restless Genital Syndrome, or Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome, has spoken about about the difficulties and pains of the condition, and how it has changed her life forever.
Joleen Baughman was in a car accident two years ago. The wreck broke her back and caused damage to her pudendal nerve, which in turn regulates sexual arousal.
The damage causes her to become aroused all the time, from the slightest movement or touch.
Not only that, but sex offers no relief.
“We would have sex once and I would feel no release at all,” she explained.
“So we would go again and then it would start really hurting but I would still want sex, even more than before. If my husband managed to go for a third time it would be agony but I would still feel no release.
“It’s unbearable. Just my clothes rubbing against me gets me so aroused I can hardly think straight.”
