Priest Installs Fingerprint Scanner To Test Mass Attendance
February 2, 2010
Poland (ChattahBox) – A priest in the Polish town of Gryfow Slaski has installed a fingerprint scanner to allow him to more easily keep track of school children’s attendance to mass.
The measure is to help him to make sure they get their 200 mass attendance before their confirmation.
Those who go all 200 times will be allowed to skip an exit exam that allows for the confirmation to occur.
It is a practice that has been accepted enthusiastically by the children of the small town.
“This is comfortable. We don’t have to stand in a line to get the priest’s signature [used to confirm mass attendance] in our confirmation notebooks,” one of the students said.
