Australian Granny Fights Off Shark Attack

February 14, 2010

Australia (ChattahBox) – An Australian grandmother has fought off a shark attack with her bare hands after being struck while snorkeling in Queensland.

Paddy Trumbull, 60, was snorkeling when the shark suddenly struck, taking out a large chunk of flesh from her buttocks and legs.

Though she was rapidly losing an incredible 40% of her blood she kept fighting, hitting and kicking it in the nose until it swam away.

“I thought, this shark is not going to get the better of me,” she recalled of the fight.

“I started punching it on the nose, punching, punching, punching, and then it got me under the water. I came back up again and I punched him in the nose. I could see the teeth, glaring, but I’m not seriously panicking, all I’m thinking is of surviving.”
