California (ChattahBox) – In a couple that proves that some people should never reproduce, a couple has been arrested after trying to sell their 6-month-old infant to two strangers in a Walmart parking lot.

The couple have been identified as 38-year-old Patrick Fousek, and 20-year-old Samantha Tomasini.

The trashy twosome waited in the lot until they saw two women walking together, then approached them. He asked if they would like to buy his baby, and they thought it was a joke.

After becoming more pushy, and offering the child for $25, the two became worried and contacted police.

“They did an outstanding job and gave our officers good information. I don’t know if they’re mothers but they definitely had that instinct to help,” Officer Lalo Villegas said.

The police tracked them down, then arrested the couple at their home at 1 A.M the following day. They were high of methamphetamines, and the home was reportedly in terrible condition.

Child Protective Services took the infant, who they say the woman admitted to breastfeeding while under the influence of narcotics.

The two have been arrested on charges of child endangerment, possession of narcotics, and Fousek was given the additional charge of violating probation.
