Winston Churchill Allegedly Covered Up UFO Sighting To Protect Public
August 5, 2010
UK (ChattahBox) – A new set of documents released as part of the Freedom of Information Act of 2005 has included a number of files pertaining to UFOs, and Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s order to keep a specific incident of a sighting by RAF radars.
The files have been released to the Ministry of Defence to the National Archives, and show a string of incidents, including near misses with unknown aircraft, an investigation into what is believed to be a UFO, and the 14-minutes of the “Blue Streak” film, long missing, which has caused a great deal of debate by those who believe the footage shows an actual extraterrestrial.
“Since the Freedom of Information Act arrived in 2005, this subject – UFOs – have become the third-most popular subject for people to write to the Ministry of Defence saying ‘please could you release this file, or papers that you hold on this particular case’,” Dr David Clarke, UFO consultant to the National Archives, told the BBC.
“What they’ve decided to do is to be totally open and to say, ‘look we’re not holding any secrets back about this subject we’ve got all these files and we’re going to make them available to the public’.”
Probably the most interesting story out of the files was a sighting of a UFO by four RAF radars, which was interesting – and starling – enough to prompt Winston Churchill to actually order the information sealed from the public for at least 50 years, to prevent mass panic and “loss of religion”.
Imagine what the details of that sighting must have been…
