Essex Amusement Riders Break Naked Rollercoaster Record
August 9, 2010
England (ChattahBox) – A record breaking 102 people stripped down and jumped on a rollercoaster in Essex Sunday, all in the name of a charitable organization raising money for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation’s Bosom Pals Appeal, the BBC reports.
More than £22,000 was raised by the stunt, which will go towards the final £750,000 goal to update and improve the breast cancer unit of Southend Hospital. It will pay for upgrades and two mammography machines, which will help save countless lives.
“People have travelled from all over the UK to take part and we’ve heard some amazing stories from so many who have been directly, or indirectly, affected by cancer and wanted to give something back,” Phillip Miller of Adventure Island, where the rollercoaster is held, said.
This breaks the previous record from 2004, when 32 people took off their clothes and rode the rollercoaster at Alton Towers.
