ABC’s Wipeout Proves To Be Big Ratings Success

The premiere of Wipeout on ABC proved to be the highest-rated show last week.  This is the first debut show for ABC to make that claim since Desperate Housewives did it years ago....Washington (ChattahBox) – The premiere of Wipeout on ABC proved to be the highest-rated show last week. This is the first debut show for ABC to make that claim since Desperate Housewives did it years ago.

Wipeout opened up with a big first week, pulling in 10 million viewers, and dominated the key 18-49 demographic.

The show proved to also be a very strong lead-in for I Survived a Japanese Game Show, which also drew in 8 million viewers.

It tied NBC’s America’s Got Talent for the second place spot at the 9 p.m. time slot.

Other notable shows included ABC’s Primetime: The Outsiders, which took in 6.6 million viewers, as well as Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen, which drew in 7.8 million viewers.

Fox ended up in first for the week, led by Hell’s Kitchen and So You Think You Can Dance. NBC was second with their America’s Got Talent, and The Baby Borrowers. Overall ABC ended up in third for the week.
