The film did not receive great reviews from critics, but it seems to be doing very well in terms of drawing in audiences to theaters.

The film opened on Wednesday pulling in $17.4 million, and then built on that Thursday to pull in another $17.1 million.

By the time Sunday is over, it is expected that Hancock will surpass the $100 million mark.

Still, despite this apparent success, Sony was hoping for bigger numbers than they are getting, especially with the success enjoyed by Disney and Pixar’s WALL-E.
