Ledger took on the role of The Joker, the arch-enemy of Batman.

The actor died at the age of 28-years old of an accidental drug overdose in New York in January, and his last major role may yield him an Oscar.

Ledger played The Joker in a very creepy and dark manner, to which has absolutely blown away critics who have seen previews of the film.

The film, which will open on July 18 in North America, could wind up being much more than a box office blockbuster, as it could also earn Ledger an Oscar.

Critics have stated that Legder was nothing but brilliant, over-the-top, and crazy.
