Billy Joel played a very special farewell concert at Shea Stadium on Wednesday night in the Bronx, New York..Washington (ChattahBox) – Billy Joel played a very special farewell concert at Shea Stadium on Wednesday night in the New York.

Billy Joel played all of his classic songs, to the delight of his fans Wednesday night, with great passion.

This was the first of two “Last Play at Shea” shows he has planned, before the stadium will be demolished.

The first concert ever in Shea Stadium was featuring The Beatles in 1965, playing to 55,600 fans.

Billy Joel tried to make the last concert as special as the first. He was joined on stage by guests such as Tony Bennett, John Mayer, and others.

Joel also paid tribute to the Beatles by treating fans to his own rendition of A Hard Day’s Night, as well as Please Please Me.
