Unfortunately though, these monkeys are not very deserving of bananas.

The concept for Space Chimps, on its surface, really is not all that bad.

The story goes that NASA takes three monkeys and puts them in a spaceship to send them to the other side of a wormhole, because they did not want to put humans at risk.

From here, all goes crazy as you are launched on an adventure which really falls flat in its implementation.

The screenplay by writer/director Kirk De Micco and Robert Moreland is not helped any by the poor animation either. Needless to say, this is not a Pixar film.

Kids may find some enjoyment out of watching the Space Chimps, but if you can understand what they are saying and such, you will lose interest very fast.

To this point, critics seem united in stating that Space Chimps is not worthy of launching.
