The Dark Knight Owns The Mexican Box Office

The Dark Knight, the highly-anticipated Batman sequel, is currently owning the Mexican box office,taking in 68.2 million pesos, or $6.74 million in its opening weekend...Washington (ChattahBox) - The Dark Knight, the highly-anticipated Batman sequel, is currently owning the Mexican box office,taking in 68.2 million pesos, or $6.74 million in its opening weekend.

The Dark Knight opened in the U.S. by breaking the record for the biggest film opening of all time.

It did not quite do as well in Mexico, but has had the biggest opening of 2008.

The film is distributed in Mexico by Warner Bros and is called Batman: El caballero de la noche.”

The Dark Knight’s Mexican box office opening beat out other blockbusters such as Kung Fu Panda, Iron Man, and Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

It did not break the record though held by Spider-Man 3, which opened to $12.9 million in Mexico just last year.
