Dark Knight Rules Box Office Again, Tops $300 Million Mark

The latest Batman film, The Dark Knight, managed to own the box office once again.  The Dark Knight topped the North American box office for the second weekend in a row, setting a record by passing the $300 million mark in just 10 days..Hollywood (ChattahBox) – The latest Batman film, The Dark Knight, managed to own the box office once again. The Dark Knight topped the North American box office for the second weekend in a row, setting a record by passing the $300 million mark in just 10 days.

The Dark Knight managed to rake in $75.6 million during the three days beginning on Friday.

It’s total now stands at $314.2 million according to Warner Bros. Pictures.

The Dark Knight has been breaking all kinds of records, as it opened up with the biggest weekend in history, with $158 million.

On top of that, it set a record as the fastest movie to reach $300 million, beating out the previous record-holder Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in 2006, which took 16 days to hit $300 million.

The Dark Knight reached $300 million in only 10 days, as it is not just setting records, it is demolishing them.

In terms of new films, the comedy Step Brothers did well at the box office, taking in $30 million second.

Coming in third was Mamma Mia!, based on the hit musical, taking in $17.8 million.

In fourth was X-Files: I Want To Believe, taking in $10.2 million, which are below expectations.
