The latest film in the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight has managed to make it 4-straight at the North American box office, making it the third-biggest film of all time.....Hollywood (ChattahBox) – The latest film in the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight has managed to make it 4-straight at the North American box office, making it the third-biggest film of all time.

The Dark Knight managed to rake in $26 million during the three days from Friday to Sunday.

This brings its 24-day total to $441.5 million, making it the No. 3 movie on the all-time list.

The Dark Knight now only trails Titanic, which took in $601 million, and Star Wars at $461 million.

It is believed that by the end of next weekend, The Dark Knight will surpass Star Wars as the No. 2 film of all-time.

It beat out some heavy new competition, with Pineapple Express coming in second, taking in $22.4 million. The film took in $40.5 million from its opening last Wednesday.

The Mummy: Curse of the Dragon Emperor came in at No. 3 with $16.1 million in its second weekend.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 opened at the No. 4 spot, taking in $10.8 million over the weekend, and $19.7 million for the five-day total.
