Disability Advocates To Boycott Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder

Disability advocates have come out and stated that they will be protesting the release of Ben Stiller's new comedy, Tropic Thunder.........Hollywood (ChattahBox) – Disability advocates have come out and stated that they will be protesting the release of Ben Stiller’s new comedy, Tropic Thunder.

Advocates for people living with disabilities have stated that the film makes fun of those living with intellectual disabilities.

The movie, Tropic Thunder, is expected to open in theaters on Wednesday. The film was directed by ben Stiller, and apparnetly uses the word “retard” throughout several scenes.

The word is used in a derogatory manner towards the character played by Ben Stiller.

In total, 22 advocate groups have announced that they will boycott the film, and are expected to protest its release.

Peter Wheeler, spokesman for Special Olympics is urging people not to go and see the movie.

This is being seen as the start of a nationwide protest, with picketing being carried out all week in Los Angeles and abroad.
