Tropic Thunder was released from DreamWorks and Paramount, and managed to gross $6.5 million in its first opening day on Wednesday.

The feature is likely to take in over $40 million over the course of the five-days, which should be enough to beat out The Dark Knight.

The film is a mix of a war movie, as well as a comedy, as experts feel that it has the ability to take the top spot this weekend.

The only variable in all of this is the new film, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the first animated feature in the saga.

It should be interesting to see how it is received, and how much support it gets from its fan base.

Our prediction for the box office this weekend, 1. Tropic Thunder, 2. Star Wars: The Clone Wars, 3. The Dark Knight.
