Fox and Warner Bros. are in the middle of a legal battle over the rights to the film, Watchmen.......Hollywood (ChattahBox) – Fox and Warner Bros. are in the middle of a legal battle over the rights to the film, Watchmen.

Watchmen is the big-screen adaptation from Zack Snyder, of the Alan Moore/Davie Gibbons comic series.

Warner Bros. had full plans to release the film on March 6, but those plans may now be in jeopardy.

A federal judge in Los Angeles did not dismiss a lawsuit on Wednesday which was filed by 20th Century Fox.

20th Century Fox filed the lawsuit against Warner Bros, claiming they own the rights to the property.

The judge on the case, Judge Gary Allen Fees, stated that Fox showcased enough evidence to allow the lawsuit to go forward.

Fox is claiming they hold the distribution rights to the film version of the comic series.

Warner Bros. has stated that Fox has no rights to the project, which had a $120 million budget.
