The Democratic National Convention (DNC) has proven to be a huge ratings draw for networks such as CNN.......Washington (ChattahBox) – The Democratic National Convention (DNC) has proven to be a huge ratings draw for networks such as CNN.

Coverage of the DNC was picked up by more viewers this year compared to 2004, the last time it took place.

The big timeslot was at the 10 p.m. hour when Michelle Obama was set to speak.

The wife of husband, Democratic candidate Barack Obama, did not disappoint as all eyes were on her.

Reports state that from 10 to 11 p.m., NBC averaged 4.71 million viewers.

CNN was in second with 4.27 million viewers, followed by ABC with 4.17 million, CBS with 3.46 million, Fox News with 2.92 million, and MSNBC with 2.10 million.

The combined primetiem audience among the 3 cable networks was at 8.9 million, up 85% from 2004.
