The Legend of Sasquatch is a cute little low budget CGI flick that should provide for an entertaining hour for the little ones in the room. The designers of the film definitely tried to set themselves apart from all other animated films, the big eyes, sets and all reminded me of the old Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer claymations I watched as a kid.

The basic storyline is nothing new, a single dad gets a new job in Seattle and forces the family to pick up am move. The youngest of the two daughters discovers the bigfoot in her own back yard, which no one believes until her sister and dad get to meet them too. The confirmed discovery leads the family to a park ranger who informs the family he too is aware of the creatures existance and that he has been protecting the creatures all along. The sasquatch family is forced to find a new place to live and the new found friends do all they can to help them find a new place for them to be safe. All the while a hunter is prowling around looking to capture the beasts for not so good reasons, enter the bad guy.

There is nothing spectacular about this film but as I say will give the little ones in the room a fun little adventure of what can be found even in our own backyard and how important friendship can be. The performances of William Hurt and John Rhys-Davies were mediocre at best. The Bonus Features including a commentary and Legend of Sasquatch quiz were cute, as were the two making of featurettes on the film.

Film: 6.0
