Amy Winehouse’s husband returns to prison after failing drug test

December 3, 2008

England (ChattahBox) — Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil is reportedly going back to prison after failing a court-ordered drug test. Fielder-Civil was released from prison in early November,  after serving almost a year behind bars for an attack on a pub landlord and attempting to pervert the course of justice in 2006. As part of his early release deal, Fielder-Civil agreed to check straight into rehab, and spend a month seeking treatment for his drug addiction.

The irony is if he had stayed in prison last month rather than taking the rehab option he was set to be released at the end of this month anyway. He appears to have now really screwed himself over. Now that the 26-year-old has reportedly failed the mandatory drugs test he will be sent back to prison to serve out the remainder of his sentence – meaning he could stay behind bars until early 2010.

After hearing the news, Fielder-Civil reportedly left the LifeWorks clinic to visit his wife at a London hospital, where she is being treated after suffering an adverse reaction to ‘prescription medication’ last month, to beg her not to give up on their marriage. A source for the UK Sun tells that:

“Blake did a runner. He turned up in hospital and hell broke loose – everyone was totally shocked. He was asking Amy to forgive him. As he was going back inside anyway he felt he didn’t have much to lose.”
