Bill O’Reilly gives up his radio show

(ChattahBox) — Conservative talking (and sometimes exploding) head Bill O’Reilly announced on Thursday that he’s giving up his top rated radio show in the first quarter of 2009. The radio show, which O’Reilly launched in May 2002,is one of the most successful syndicated radio shows in the country,on 430 stations.

O’Reilly says he’s just run out of hours and wants to focus on his ‘fair and balanced’ show on the Fox News cable channel.

“The media business is getting more and more intense,” he says. “We’ve got to keep the TV show at the level we have it now, and that means more and more time to keep it competitive and fresh. I’ve been working 60, 65 hours a week and I just can’t keep doing that.”

It was recently revealed In Michael Wolff’s forthcoming biography of Rupert Murdoch, “The Man Who Owns The News,” that the media mogul despises’ Billy and only tolerates him because the top-rated personality, brings in the viewers.
