Brolin has apologized publicly to Crowe and admitted he was boozed up when he dissed Crowe and had just been joking, saying he actually thinks Crowe is a great guy, amazing actor and is a friend.
I suspect Crowe wasn’t personally offended, as he’s been known to run off at the mouth a bit when drinking and probably understands the irony better than most. What’s unfortunate is that websites like this one give the rude joke the headline, neglecting the context and contrite apology. Crowe is a headline grabber, even when he’s done nothing at all … just mention his name in a negative context, even just joking, and it makes headlines.
