Report: John Travolta extorted over a photo of dying son

January 22, 2009

(ChattahBox) — While dealing with the tragic loss of their son, Jett, John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston were contacted by some opportunistic thugs, reportedly trying to extort them. The extortion apparently centers around a photograph of Jett that was taken as he was dying. Can you believe the unscrupulous nature of some people?

Details are sketchy but the UK Daily Mail identified the perpetrators as two men, one a local politician from Grand Bahama where Jett died, the other connected to the ambulance service that was called in. The pair allegedly¬† demanded ‘millions of dollars’ or threatened to sell the photo to the highest bidder.

Travolta, 54, immediately contacted his lawyers to deal with the matter and they flew to the Bahamas over the weekend to meet with the alleged extortionists. Bahamas Police are supposedly already questioning the two individuals.

People are unbelievable. The fact that a politician would be involved, after so much ‘support’ given to the Travolta family, is revolting.
