Fox steps in to assure third Narnia film

January 30, 2009

(ChattahBox) — The Narnia series of films will continue after Twentieth Century Fox has stepped in to partner with Walden Media on at least one more film based on the C.S. Lewis children’s book series “The Chronicles of Narnia.”

Disney bowed out of the franchise last month, citing “budgetary considerations and other logistics.”
20th Century Fox stepped in to produce the third of CS Lewis’s books, Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
The second film in the series, Prince Caspian, made $420m compared with the $745m made by 2005’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The next movie is due to be released in 2010, Fox reported.
