Suns don’t make trade then find they may lose Stoudemire for rest of season

February 20, 2009

(ChattahBox) — I just heard on the radio that Amare Stoudemire might be out for the season just days after the Phoenix Suns decided not to trade him.

Stoudemire, who was a starter for the West in Sunday’s All-Star Game, had surgery to repair a partially detached retina in his right eye today (Friday) and won’t be able to resume physical activity for about eight weeks.  Stoudemire was apparently injured in Phoenix’s 142-119 victory over the Clippers in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, in which he scored 42-points.  He could be back for the playoff if the Suns are able to get in without him.
