Simpsons Renewed For Two More Seasons – World Rejoices

February 26, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Excellent Smithers! After 20 seasons Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and  Maggie haven’t aged a day and the voice actors are well paid and happy to go on.  Fox announced today they have renewed “The Simpsons” for two more seasons. That means 44 additional episodes after this season, bringing the show through its 22nd season and 493rd episode. This ensures exceeding Gunsmoke’s 20-year run to become the longest-running primetime series ever. However The Simpsons still has a ways to go before it can surpass the amount of episodes Gunsmoke produced; due to then-longer seasons, the western rounded up 635 episodes.
