April 21, 2009

(ChattahBox) — “Early Show” co-host Julie Chen, 39, and her husband, CBS president and CEO Les Moonves, are expecting their first child together in October, she told ‘Early Show’ viewers this morning.

The show co-anchor told viewers “I am expecting my first child.”

Rubbing her tummy, Chen continued, “So it wasn’t a big Sunday at the buffet table. I’m starting to show now! And my due date is Oct. 4. So, fingers crossed, and … I’m not taking maternity leave from (the CBS show) “Big Brother,” which she hosts. “I e-mailed my boss over there this weekend and I said, ‘Don’t worry. I can still do the show!” ‘

Julie has been the host of the U.S. version of Big Brother since its debut in July 2000.

Father to be Moonves, has three grown children from his marriage to Nancy Wiesenfeld, who he divorced in 2004 after a 26-year marriage.
