Rihanna ‘Leaked’ Photo May Lead To Brown Case Dismissal

May 9, 2009

California (ChattahBox) – Chris Brown’s defense attorney has filed a motion to dismiss his case against singer Rihanna, stating that the photo of her bruised and beaten face was leaked to the press, and so should be inadmissible, according to a story originally broken by RadarOnline.com.

Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, said Wednesday that the photo was obtained in an unethical manner by TMZ, and that it was then “illegally leaked to the media”.

“The photograph was immediately viewed by hundreds of thousands of viewers and was displayed on every news channel for several weeks,” he told reporters.

“The purpose of the leak was necessarily for profit and to vilify Mr. Brown and poison the potential jury pool.”

Chris Brown has been charged with felony assault after allegedly beating his then girlfriend, Umbrella singer Rihanna, after an argument about a text message from another woman. A photo of her badly beaten face, as well as possible strangulation bruises around her neck, was then leaked to the web by popular gossip site, TMZ.

No reply has been issued by Rihanna about the defense.
