Levi Johnston: Sarah Palin Wanted to Hide Bristol’s Pregnancy, Adopt Grandchild

September 2, 2009

(ChattahBox)—Levi Johnston, father of Sarah Palin’s grandchild Tripp, appears in the October issue of Vanity Fair, cleaned up and dressed in some expensive duds and let loose more dirt on his almost mother-in-law, and former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

Accompanied by the large and colorful Tank Jones, an Anchorage private investigator, who now serves as Johnston’s bodyguard and manager, Levi appeared relaxed and jovial, as he was caught on tape joking about exposing his “Johnson” in Playgirl magazine.

Levi was thrown in the limelight when he got Sarah’s Palin’s daughter Bristol pregnant, at about the same time that Sarah Palin was tapped as running mate to Republican presidential candidate, John McCain. Levi was essentially shanghaied into a public engagement with Bristol, but the couple broke up soon after their son was born in December.

While waiting for his son to be born, Levi lived in the Palin household, where he witnessed Sarah Palin’s real persona first hand, which he says is quite different from her carefully cultivated public persona of a devoted “hockey mom” and avid hunter. He says Sarah Palin once asked him how to shoot a gun, she never cooked family meals and she is an uninvolved mother.

Levi, a former High School hockey star, says Sarah Palin hardly ever attended her oldest son’s hockey games.

“The Palin house was much different from what many people expect of a normal family, even before she was nominated for vice president. There wasn’t much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn’t cook, Todd doesn’t cook—the kids would do it all themselves: cook, clean, do the laundry, and get ready for school. Most of the time Bristol would help her youngest sister with her homework, and I’d barbecue chicken or steak on the grill.”

Then there is the surprising claim that Sarah Palin, was so concerned about the political damage from her teenage daughter’s pregnancy, that she pushed Levi and Bristol to agree to the adoption of their child by Palin and her husband Todd.

“Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret—nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn’t have to worry about anything. Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging—she wouldn’t give up. She would say, “So, are you gonna let me adopt him?” We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn’t want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid.”

Levi repeats his earlier claims about Sarah Palin’s restlessness after McCain lost his bid for the presidency. He says she returned home to Wasilla unhappy, and talking about giving up her role as Governor to cash in on the many lucrative TV and book offers that were coming her way.

“She would blatantly say, “I want to just take this money and quit being governor.” She started to say it frequently, but she didn’t know how to do it. When she came home from work, it seemed like she was more and more stressed out.”

Vanity Fair’s site has a hilarious behind-the-scene video of Levi’s photo shoot, where Tank Jones is shown joking with Levi about transforming from “Wasilla wear” to “Vanity Fair wear.” While in a car, Jones jokes with Levi about posing nude for Playgirl magazine, which Levi said he would do.

Jones said to Levi: “You gotta have some Johnson.” “You can’t come in there lacking in the Johnson area.”

Levi Johnston is a 19-year-old handsome kid who is trying to make a career for himself in modeling and acting. Somehow, with his unassuming innocence and earnestness, he may just pull it off.
